An Arsenal season ticket holder accused of assaulting Roy Keane by beating has today pleaded not guilty at court.

Scott Law, 43, denied assaulting the former Manchester United captain when he appeared at Highbury Magistrates’ Court this morning.

The alleged incident happened at the Emirates Stadium on September 3, 2023.

It came after Arsenal beat Manchester United 3-1. Keane was working as a Sky Sports pundit for the match.

Arsenal won the dramatic game with two late goals in stoppage time, first from Declan Rice and then Gabriel Jesus. Minutes earlier Alejandro Garnacho had a goal disallowed for what United thought was the winner.

It was claimed at the time that Law headbutted Keane after he celebrated Garnacho’s 88th minute goal.

After Law pleaded not guilty, a trial is now expected to take place over two days — on May 29 and May 30 — in the same court.

Law was bailed without any conditions until the trial date.
