Al Nassr are in talks with Juventus over the signing of goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Szczesny has reached an agreement in principle with the Saudi Arabian club on a two-year contract which will be worth in the region of €19million (£16m, $20.4m) per year.

If an agreement is reached between the two clubs, it is expected that the transfer will be completed this week — ahead of Szczesny representing Poland at this summer’s European Championship in Germany.

Szczesny’s contract at Juventus will expire in June 2025 and with one year remaining, any transfer fee is part of discussions.

The 34-year-old has made 252 first-team appearances for Juventus since joining from Arsenal in 2017 and has helped the club to eight trophies in that time including three Serie A titles.

Szczesny joined Arsenal as a 16-year-old in 2006 from Legia Warsaw, and went on to make 181 first-team appearances for the north London club, helping the club to win the FA Cup in 2014 and 2015.

He made 28 appearances for Brentford in League One during a loan spell in the 2009-10 season, and played 81 times for Roma during a loan spell between 2015 and 2017.

Szczesny has been capped 81 times by Poland with Euro 2024 set to be his seventh major international tournament with his nation.
