FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — If Davante Adams’ rousing speech after the Week 7 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t work, maybe Thomas Morstead’s recipe from the “fountain of youth” will do the trick.
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was banged up heading into Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots, dealing with injuries to his knee, hamstring and ankle, the result of a 40-year-old body and an offensive line that’s struggling to protect him.
After the Patriots game, New England defensive tackle Davon Godchaux said that Rodgers didn’t look himself, that his mobility wasn’t a threat anymore and that even Godchaux, at 330 pounds, could chase him down.
“He’s probably right,” Rodgers said. “I was hurting. But I feel better today.”
