Walker, 29, was playing more than 19 minutes per night and notching points at a career-best rate.
He began his professional career with the AHL’s Ontario Reign after four years at Bowling Green State University. He signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Los Angeles Kings ahead of the 2018-19 season and played four seasons with the Kings. Walker was traded to the Flyers in June 2023 as part of a three-team cap-relief trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Over 295 career regular-season games in six seasons, Walker has 89 points.
The Flyers are third in the Metropolitan Division with a 32-23-8 record, tied at 72 points with the Atlantic’s Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning.
