Brighton's Jakub Moder set for Feyenoord transfer

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Jakub Moder is set to join Dutch club Feyenoord.

The 25-year-old has been used sparingly by Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler this season, with just four substitute appearances in the Premier League totalling 71 minutes.

He is now in the process of finalising his move to Feyenoord, who are currently fourth in the Eredivisie and 11 points off league leaders PSV Eindhoven.

Moder has scored two goals in 60 appearances for the south coast club, whom he joined from Lech Poznan in October 2020.

Brighton have multiples option in central midfield with Carlos Baleba, Yasin Ayari, Mats Wieffer, Jack Hinshelwood and Matt O’Reilly all ahead of Moder in the pecking order this season, while Diego Gomez has arrived from Inter Miami this month.

Moder is set to become the second player to leave Brighton this month, after left-back Imari Samuels joined Dundee.

Moder has been capped 31 times by Poland and was part of the nation’s Euro 2024 squad.

Brighton are currently ninth in the Premier League and return to action on Sunday with a trip to Manchester United.
