Aston Villa have reached a verbal agreement with Fenerbahce for the sale of Diego Carlos.
The deal has not yet been finalised between the clubs but a fee of €10million (£8.46m) has been agreed, with Villa considering Sevilla’s Loic Bade among the options as a potential replacement.
The 31-year-old has started eight Premier League matches for Villa this season, who is behind Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings and Pau Torres in the centre-back pecking order in Unai Emery’s squad.

Brazilian defender Carlos joined Villa from Sevilla in the summer of 2022 but ruptured his Achilles tendon in his second appearance for the club, which ruled him out of action for nine months.
The centre-back, who won the Europa League with Sevilla in 2020 and claimed gold with Brazil at the 2020 Olympics, has made 58 appearances for Villa and scored one goal.
Villa are having a busy January transfer window having signed forward Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund and sold Jaden Philogene to Ipswich Town.
