Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Yasin Ozcan from Turkish club Kasimpasa on a pre-contract agreement.
Ozcan will remain at Kasimpasa for the remainder of the season and join up with his new Villa teammates in the summer. The Turkey youth international has signed a contract until 2030.
The Athletic reported on January 14 in the Transfer DealSheet that the two clubs had agreed on a €7million (£5.83m; $7.22m) upfront fee with a further €1m in possible add-ons.
Ozcan made his professional debut aged 16 in 2022, coming on as a substitute in Kasimpasa’s 4-0 defeat against Istanbul Basaksehir. He has made 81 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring five goals.
The 18-year-old defender has been capped by Turkey at under-16, under-17 and under-21 levels.

Ozcan will add to Unai Emery’s options next season in a defensive unit that has been hampered by injuries. Pau Torres, Tyrone Mings and Matty Cash have all missed time this campaign, while Ezri Konsa was substituted after 27 minutes in Villa’s FA Cup fourth round win against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Villa added defensive reinforcements in the January window, signing right-back Andres Garcia from Levante and bringing in centre-back Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea on deadline day.
