12 Can’t Miss Food-Filled Art Basel Events In Miami This December

Miami Art Week is nearly here. What started as Art Basel, a yearly art fair that makes its way to Miami every December, Miami Art Week has grown exponentially and is now made up of dozens of art fairs, gallery pop-ups, and artist-inspired events and activations that take over nearly every corner of the Magic City. This year the festivities have been pushed back a week and will be taking place from December 7 to 10th.

While true art lovers will fill shows like Scope, Red Dot, Spectrum, and actual Art Basel, there are a ton (and we’re talking a ton) of events for those who want in on the action, but like to make sure there are plenty of bites and beverages along the way.

If you’re in it for the food and fun, here are 12 can’t miss Miami Art Week events happening this December.

Shake Shack x Maty’s Collaboration

Shake Shack is joining forces with acclaimed recipients of 2023 FOOD & WINE Best New Chef, Valerie and Nando Chang of Maty’s and Itamae and artist Eric Junker for their first-ever Miami Art Week culinary collaboration taking place on December 5 and 6.

The partnership features a unique menu blending Shake Shack’s flavors with Maty’s Nikkei-Peruvian style, including items like Maty’s Shack and Huancaína Cheese Fries. Guests can also engage in an immersive art installation by Eric Junker, leaving their mark on life-size murals inspired by the collaboration.

This collaboration is the culmination of Shake Shack and Junker’s joint venture, showcased in the redesign of Shake Shack’s canned wines with Eric’s distinctive artwork, currently rolling out nationwide. Tickets are priced at $40 per person and include the full collaboration food menu, a Shack canned wine, access to the art experience, and an exclusive piece of artwork by Eric Junker himself.

As a part of Shake Shack’s larger mission to stand for Something Good®, a percentage of ticket proceeds will support Food Rescue South Florida in its efforts to combat hunger and support local food banks. To purchase tickets, visit
