Porsche Unveil Latest 911 Carrera 4 GTS
Porsche have decided to extend its latest 911 model after offering the run out special edition Carrera GTS they have now unveiled the Carrera 4 GTS, a 4 wheel drive version of the original run out model.
Porsche’s decision was made following a very favourable reception that the Carrera GTS received. The Carrera 4 GTS uses the same engine as the Carrera GTS, which is a tuned version of the Carrera S’s 3.8 litre flat 6 producing 402bhp rather than the standard 380bhp. If the car is fitted with a twin-clutch PDK gearbox it can reach 62mph from rest in 4.4 seconds ( the cabriolet version taking 4.6 seconds) and although no official top speed figure has been released, it is probable that the Carrera 4 GTS will hit around 190mph.
Porsche have managed to keep the economy figures the same as the Carrera S even though the Carrera 4 GTS boasts 20bhp extra, CO2 emissions of 247g/km and a combined fuel economy of 26.mpg.
The GTS additionally has 19″ RS Spyder alloys as standard as well as a sport design front apron and black detailing on the spoiler and sideskirts. In the cabin the GTS gets sports seats and a liberal covering of alcantara.
The Carrera 4 GTS will be available in the UK from July 2011 and will be start from £83,145 for the hard top and £90,024 for the cabriolet. That is a £2,000 increase over the standard Carrera 4S and a £5,000 premium over an equivalent 2 wheel drive Carrera GTS.
